This salve not only uses LemonBalm and Yarrow infused olive oil, but it also includes LemonBalm essential oil - also known as Mellissa Oil. This oil is extremely expensive, so most cold sore balms don't include it - but it is so important for the effectiveness of this salve!
 
I also include Grapefruit Seed Extract and Tea Tree which are very affective at drying up the cold sore and killing the virus. The Clove and Peppermint essential oils help to cool and numb the itchy tingling caused from the cold sore to bring some relief! Finally, the L-lysine has also been proven to help with cold sores and help to prevent them from returning. It is not oil soluable, so it does make the salve grainy. But the powder will absorb into the skin once applied.
